Dedicated to the memory of Janette Danbrowsky

This site is a tribute to Janette Danbrowsky, our amazing mum who sadly passed away on 6th February 2021, aged just 69.

Mum was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia in 2015 and, although she bravely fought to keep her symptoms at bay, sadly her condition deteriorated rapidly over the past two years.

We know how loved she was by so many of you, and have set up this page so you can remember her with messages, memories and pictures.

It goes without saying that she will be so deeply missed. In memory of mum and in lieu of flowers, we’re kindly accepting donations to be split 50/50 between two charities - Younger People With Dementia (YPWD) and Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK).

YPWD is a local charity that supported mum later in her illness - giving her the freedom to enjoy activities she loved, like walking and gardening, in a safe space.

ARUK funds vital research into cures for all forms of dementia, so hopefully one day soon families will be free from this cruel disease.

Mum’s funeral is on Monday 8th March. Sadly, due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to invite everyone she would have wanted to be there. If we have been in touch to invite you, then please do let us know if you can attend. If not, we’re sorry, but we’ll host a get-together to celebrate her life as soon as we can.

Love Hannah, Amy, Lauren and Vanessa x

In memory of a good friend. Lots of lovely memories of weekends at Burnham Cricket Club and in later years catching up over lunch with the same group of friends. We will miss you.

I want to say thank you for making me feel like family, for always making me feel welcome, for raising my favourite person. I never saw or felt anything but kindness, love and warmth from you and saw you as family. As a mum and grandmother you were a role model and I hope I can raise my child to be even half as strong and independent as yours are. They are all so different from each other but yet show the same fierce strength. The fact that you nurtured that in them shows what an amazing mum you were. They are a credit to you. My heart is broken for them and for us friends who saw you like a mum too. You gave me a second home and somewhere I always felt welcome at anytime. I don’t think you could ever know what that meant or means to me. I have so many fond memories of Danbrowsky fireworks night; your outstanding coleslaw, proper oven baked potatoes, real butter! An array of desserts and the inevitable drunkenness ensued with you falling asleep after too much soave! I don’t think I saw you sit down often other than those occasions! You were always cleaning or hanging washing out, putting a wash on. Always working hard for your family. Always putting your girl’s needs first and then grandchildren, who trumped the girls! Thank you for your love and impact you have had on me and my life. We will look after your family, they are ours too, as you were. Xxx

Thoughts

Jan, well what can I say. An absolutely amazing woman who raised some absolutely hilarious, loving, wonderful children. Always the life and soul of the party. You created not just a warm loving home but also an accepting home. You allowed me through your doors and I have so many fond memories of you. From summertime BBQ’s to legendary Danbrowsky parties, to even a holiday in Portugal. You had a wicked sense of humour and a beautiful soul. With all my love Sid Xxx

Where to begin? An absolute legend! Jan, you were there when, as a teenage girl, i didnt always see eye to eye with mum, as we also know when lauren turned up with her bright yellow holdall! There was always a sofa to stay on! You always made me feel so welcome!! The many outings and parties that were had over the years, words cannot express how devastated we are! Rest in peace 2nd mother! Your memory will live on with the “lads”!!! Much love xxx

Rest in peace wonderful Jan. You were like a Mum to me and treated like me like your daughter, which just goes to highlight the warmth and love you had in your heart. You took me on day trips to many beaches within the UK when we were growing up and I will never forget the fun we had. Coffees in the morning, lunch in a pub and then to the beach we'd go, regardless of how cold it was! Allowing me to stay on your sofa for endless nights until I managed to commandeer a bed! You treated me as one of your own and for that I will be eternally grateful <3 <3 I will never forget you Jan, forever in my heart. All my love, Katie xxx
